Accesserty ALLY
ALLY is a reviewed active-maintenance signal for verified domains. It shows that a site team has committed to receiving and following up on accessibility reports; it is not an accessibility certification or compliance guarantee.
What ALLY represents
ALLY turns an ongoing maintenance commitment into a visible public signal. Signal can show ALLY for an approved domain so people know that the site has a traceable process for receiving accessibility reports.
ALLY does not mean that every page is barrier-free, and it does not replace certification from a government, standards body, or professional testing organisation. People may still encounter barriers, and the site team must keep reviewing and improving the experience.
Who can apply
Applicants must first verify a domain they maintain through Pulse. Verification is not tied to purchasing a plan: the domain must install Pulse and send its first event.
Application process
- Register and verify the domain
Sign in to Console, register the domain, and install the Pulse script. The domain is verified after its first Pulse event is received.
- Review and handle Signal reports
Verified domains can review reports submitted through Signal in Console and record their handling status.
- Submit an ALLY application
When the site is actively maintaining accessibility, submit an application in Console. Every application is reviewed by Accesserty and is never approved automatically.
What ongoing maintenance involves
- Continue reviewing and handling Signal user reports.
- Review reminders or spot-check findings and plan appropriate follow-up.
- Do not present ALLY as proof of full WCAG or legal compliance.
Review, revocation, and reapplication
ALLY requires human review. Accesserty may revoke the status when reports remain unattended, follow-up reminders receive no response, or the site no longer demonstrates active maintenance. Revocation does not remove domain verification.
A revoked domain cannot reapply for three months. After that period, the maintainer may apply again once its report-handling process has improved.
